Mediatoolkit is a company behind a SaaS media monitoring tool that tracks relevant mentions of brands and companies across the web and social media in real-time. Today we have more than 600 clients from more than 100 countries around the world, and we are growing faster every day. That also means growing our 50+ team of passionate individuals focused on personal and business growth.
You’ll be joining our Product team as its first designer, working closely with Product Management and Marketing, as well as our development teams, in designing how Mediatoolkit works 🙃 More specifically, you’ll work with other teams to solve customer and business problems, in all stages of product development.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
...and why this is a huge deal for us.
We have more than 600 happy customers, and we want to increase those numbers - both in customers and their happiness 😁 Our ideal candidate thrives on being able to influence what we do and how we do it. Since you’ll have a chance to own and lead the entire design process, from user research to visual design, we expect deep domain understanding, as well as familiarity with a broad range of UX techniques and methods.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Own and lead Mediatoolkit’s visual and functional user experience from idea to launch in partnership with PM, developers, QA, and other teams. You’ll work with our PM to validate and design new opportunities before moving them to development. You’ll be involved in user research from the get-go - from identifying business goals and success metrics, to generating hypotheses, experimenting, and testing.
Solve problems and be a customer advocate - your job should be a constantly evolving loop of analyses, tests, designs, and more tests - with the sole goal of turning customer-oriented business objectives into UX outcomes. You’ll gather insights directly from our customers and be familiar with how they think about a certain problem we are solving.
Know the product - you’ll understand its vision and key objectives, and make sure your designs support them, as well as broader product and company vision while creating usable features that map to our users’ goals, activities, and states
Partner with other departments and teams - as a Product Designer, you will be working closely with our Product Manager and Tech Leads, as well as other teams, such as Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success. The PM will present your cross-functional team with a business/customer challenge, and you’ll own the visual interface, while the Tech Leads will own the technical execution of your solution.
Love (and use) data - we need you to rely on metrics and data when making decisions; we use tools like Hotjar, MixPanel, and GA to track users’ potential states (eg. errors, successes, dead-ends)
Develop and maintain our UI/UX design guidelines - one of your first projects will be creating Mediatoolkit’s style guide to represent our brand and prioritize brand alignment
Last but not least, speak up - as we’ve said before, you’ll be our first in-house UX designer, and we want you to proactively identify any usability issues we might have missed or failed to prioritize
You’ll be completely in charge in terms of picking out your preferred toolkit, so we won’t list things like InDesign, Marvel, or Figma - what we do need is:
