Mediatoolkit is a company behind a SaaS media monitoring tool that tracks relevant mentions of brands and companies across the web and social media in real-time. Today we have more than 600 clients from more than 100 countries around the world, and we are growing faster every day. That also means growing our 50+ team of passionate individuals focused on personal and business growth.

You’ll be joining our Product team as its first designer, working closely with Product Management and Marketing, as well as our development teams, in designing how Mediatoolkit works 🙃 More specifically, you’ll work with other teams to solve customer and business problems, in all stages of product development.

...and why this is a huge deal for us.

We have more than 600 happy customers, and we want to increase those numbers - both in customers and their happiness 😁 Our ideal candidate thrives on being able to influence what we do and how we do it. Since you’ll have a chance to own and lead the entire design process, from user research to visual design, we expect deep domain understanding, as well as familiarity with a broad range of UX techniques and methods.

Own and lead Mediatoolkit’s visual and functional user experience from idea to launch in partnership with PM, developers, QA, and other teams. You’ll work with our PM to validate and design new opportunities before moving them to development. You’ll be involved in user research from the get-go - from identifying business goals and success metrics, to generating hypotheses, experimenting, and testing.

Solve problems and be a customer advocate - your job should be a constantly evolving loop of analyses, tests, designs, and more tests - with the sole goal of turning customer-oriented business objectives into UX outcomes. You’ll gather insights directly from our customers and be familiar with how they think about a certain problem we are solving.

Know the product - you’ll understand its vision and key objectives, and make sure your designs support them, as well as broader product and company vision while creating usable features that map to our users’ goals, activities, and states

Partner with other departments and teams - as a Product Designer, you will be working closely with our Product Manager and Tech Leads, as well as other teams, such as Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success. The PM will present your cross-functional team with a business/customer challenge, and you’ll own the visual interface, while the Tech Leads will own the technical execution of your solution.

Love (and use) data - we need you to rely on metrics and data when making decisions; we use tools like Hotjar, MixPanel, and GA to track users’ potential states (eg. errors, successes, dead-ends)

Develop and maintain our UI/UX design guidelines - one of your first projects will be creating Mediatoolkit’s style guide to represent our brand and prioritize brand alignment

Last but not least, speak up - as we’ve said before, you’ll be our first in-house UX designer, and we want you to proactively identify any usability issues we might have missed or failed to prioritize

You’ll be completely in charge in terms of picking out your preferred toolkit, so we won’t list things like InDesign, Marvel, or Figma - what we do need is:

    • 3+ years commercial experience working as a UX or Product Designer - designing software end-to-end user experience across different platforms (web apps/SaaS preferred over mobile/native)
    • You know your core visual design principles - our first designer needs to be familiar with things like layouts, desktop/mobile UI, web typography, motion, iconography, color, brand alignment, visual hierarchy, grids - and how they affect product function
    • Proficiency in interaction design and information architecture - multi-step and cross-platform flows, journey maps, user flows, surveys, hand-drawn sketches, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, the works. You’ll work with a lot of feeds, reports, and dashboards, so being able to effectively organize content and navigation on both application and screen level is key
    • User research and analysis - since you’ll collaborate in user research with our PM, we need experience using a variety of tools and techniques, both qualitative and quantitative (eg. surveys, A/B testing, competitive analysis, analytics data, customer interviews, ...) Based on your research, you’ll be creating user personas that embody various user habits, expectations, tech-savviness, and goals they are trying to accomplish while using Mediatoolkit
    • Interaction specifications - specifying the behavior of the elements that you created in order to ease communication by documenting your designs and annotating macro and microinteractions in a clear and concise way for developers and QA

    • Experience working on a SaaS project, and familiarity with standard domain terms, protocols, etc.
    • Familiarity with HTML/CSS
    • Familiarity with version control (eg. Git)
    • Familiarity with different UX metrics and frameworks (eg. HEART)
    • Experience working in multidisciplinary agile teams

      • Working in a people-first team focused on knowledge sharing
      • A permanent employment contract
      • A salary of 16.000,00 - 20.000,00 kuna gross
      • Organized 6-month onboarding program, including a mentor and an onboarding buddy
      • A chance for personal growth and fast progress
      • Team buildings, workshops and educations (both internal and with external experts), office parties; virtual, for now ):
      • Individual development plans, including (bi)weekly 1:1 meetings with your manager, monthly Quality Time meetings, Growth Conversations, and an individual annual education budget of 1000,00
      • Top-notch equipment - a Macbook Pro, an extra screen, a headset, an ergonomic chair, a phone of your choice (iPhone or Android) to be used freely for private purposes
      • Flexibility regarding working hours and workplace, in agreement with your manager, and depending on your preference
      • A minimum of 24 vacation days
      • For those that prefer working from the office, a pet-friendly workspace including a library, rec-rooms, and unlimited amounts of coffee, tea, fruits, and snacks
      • Depending on what you drive, co-financed garage or bike space
      • Discounts on eye exams and glasses
      • Free legal, tax, and psychological counsel
      • For parents, extra vacation days, a 4.000,00 kuna net baby bonus, free first kindergarten/school days for both parents, baby gifts
      • Paid Multisport card
      • Xmas bonus (2.000,00 kuna), Easter bonus (500,00 kuna), holiday bonus (500,00 kuna)
      • An unlimited Mediatoolkit subscription for yourself and an NGO of your choice
